Debonie Lewis, MHA, PMP
President
Debonie is a visionary leader and project manager dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations to achieve their goals. Founder of AIMwell Yoga and current board president of the Marlborough Community Coalition, Debonie enjoys fostering environments that promote longevity, well-being, and sustainable change. She has lived in the Walnut Grove neighborhood (part of the MCC) since 2018. In her spare time she enjoys taking long walks, painting and thrifting, and has a beagle pup named Lucy.

Meghan Freeman
Vice President
Meghan’s initial work with Marlborough Community Coalition (MCC) was as a part of the Community Land Trust homeownership group. She is passionate about affordable housing, recognizing it as a fundamental human right. She is currently involved in the MCC Finance Committee, Housing Committee and Marlborough United Violence Prevention Committee.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Meghan completed her undergraduate degree in Business Management and Marketing with a minor in History at Towson University. In 2021, she completed a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership at Rockhurst University. She is currently completing a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certification at Rockhurst University.
In Meghan’s free time, she enjoys visiting her 3 grown daughters, gardening, sailing, working out, prayer/reflection and supporting local nonprofits.

Kymira Callaway Randolph
Secretary
Kymira is a proud Kansas City transplant, originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, whose journey has taken her to various cities across the country. She currently serves as the Director of Community Membership Initiatives for the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri, where she leads impactful programs aimed at increasing membership and fostering community engagement.
A dedicated mother and grandmother, Kymira is deeply committed to creating a safer Kansas City and is passionate about reducing homicides in the metropolitan area.
In August 2021, Kymira purchased her home in the Marlborough neighborhood. Since then, she has been an active advocate for her community, striving to make Marlborough an even greater place to live. Her work reflects a deep commitment to fostering connections, improving quality of life, and empowering under-resourced communities in Kansas City.

Tim Dixon
Treasurer
Tim is a native Kansas Citian and a lifelong resident. He grew up splitting time between Midtown KC and northern Johnson County, graduating from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.
Tim moved to Marlborough in 2022 and quickly found value in being part of a strong community.
He currently serves as the Business Manager for Handcrafted Wines, a Kansas-based wine & spirits distributor.

Tonya Slavens
Board Member
Tonya has lived in Marlborough for over 30 years, reared 4 children and now has 3 grandchildren in the area.
She enjoys time with family & friends, song writing, hiking, gardening, and meeting people.
What she loves about being a Marlborough resident or a (Marlboroiana) are the people and community. The people keep her here, along with the great food prepared at our local restaurant, The Borough KC. Although Marlborough may have some struggles, she believes that it is a great place to live, work, and play; and she hopes that her service to the community makes a difference.

Diane Hershberger
Executive Director
Diane moved to Marlborough in 1997. In 2009, she was a member of the Coalition’s first Board of Directors. She served for 8 years. In 2018, Diane become the Coalition’s first contract employee working on projects to create a healthy Marlborough. She is passionate about green space, housing, and economic development strategies that advance Marlborough as a revitalized racially and financially diverse neighborhood.
Diane and her spouse operated an organic vegetable farm in Marlborough for 15 years. They renovated the former Mama Tio’s Restaurant in Marlborough Village and re-opened it as a neighborhood food hall

Sarah Sommerkamp
Project Manager
Sarah is a contracted Project Manager for the Marlborough Community Coalition and a "day neighbor" of Marlborough. An avid KCMO transplant, she loves all of the unique bridges, finding the best skyline angles, and the big, small town feel of the City.
She is a resident of the Historic Northeast and divides her time between training for the annual spring KC triathlon; her tortoiseshell cat, Rosalind; and thinking up ways to make Marlborough a better place for all of its residents to live. She is passionate about gardening, conservation, affordable housing, community and international development.

Jere Sellers
Board Advisor | Attorney and Partner at Stinson LLP
Stinson LLP, through its partner, Steve Chinn, helped with the creation of MCC. Steve passed the responsibility on to Jere Sellers and Rich Cook. Since that time Jere, a real estate litigation partner, and Rich, a real estate transactional partner, now regularly attend Board meetings as well as community meetings, providing counsel and guidance. Both live just to the west of Marlborough but have always considered Marlborough their neighbor that they want to help succeed.
We remember these leaders with gratitude for their work and dedication to our neighborhood areas.
