The Violence Prevention Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and day-to-day management of a Marlborough United (Aim4Peace) Street Outreach team, ensuring the effective implementation of community-based violence prevention strategies. This role combines direct field engagement with staff supervision, requiring a strong balance of leadership, operational coordination, and community presence.
Supervisors spend a significant portion of their time in the field canvassing neighborhoods, building relationships, and modeling effective outreach practices. They are responsible for coaching and supporting staff in violence interruption, conflict mediation, case management, and community engagement, while ensuring accountability, consistency, and alignment with program goals.
The Violence Prevention Supervisor also plays a key role in strengthening partnerships,
supporting program development, and contributing to data-informed strategies that address the root causes of violence. This position requires flexibility and responsiveness, including working non-traditional hours such as evenings, weekends, on-call shifts, and rotating schedules to ensure coverage during peak periods of community need.

Friday - Saturday 3 PM - 12 AM
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise, coach, and support a team of Street Responders trained in violence interruption, conflict mediation, alternative dispute resolution, and case management.
Maintain a strong field presence by canvassing neighborhoods, engaging community members, and modeling effective outreach practices.
Establish and sustain collaborative relationships with community leaders, residents, faith-based organizations, schools, businesses, hospitals, and other key partners.
Serve as a liaison between the Health Department and the community to strengthen trust, communication, and coordinated violence prevention efforts.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of violence prevention strategies, policies, and program initiatives.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee outreach events, community meetings, and engagement activities that promote community involvement and violence reduction.
Organize and facilitate trainings on violence prevention and public health approaches for internal staff, City personnel, community organizations, and the public.
Monitor staff performance, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development.
Support legislative and policy-related efforts by responding to information requests, engaging with stakeholders, and tracking relevant initiatives.
Apply legal, ethical, and technical guidance to complex situations with professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
Develop and support strategies that address social determinants of health, including housing, education, transportation, food access, and public safety.
Collaborate with evaluation partners to ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and documentation of program outcomes.
Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate program impact and progress.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations and community impact.
Technical Skills & Job Requirements Thorough Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of public health, violence prevention, and community-based intervention models
Organizational and administrative practices within public sector or community-based programs
Considerable Knowledge of:

Analyze, interpret, and communicate complex data and reports clearly and effectively
Build and maintain strong working relationships with staff, community stakeholders, municipal partners, and the public
Balance field-based responsibilities with administrative and supervisory duties
Navigate sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and cultural competence
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience working with high-risk individuals, youth, and families in areas such as case management, public health, violence prevention, or public safety
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Community Health Workers (CHWs) canvass neighborhoods, engaging directly with community members to implement violence prevention strategies and strengthen relationships between the Marlborough United (AIM4Peace) program and the communities most impacted by violence. Through consistent presence, outreach, and trust-building, CHWs serve as frontline public health practitioners working to reduce violence and promote safer, healthier communities.
In their work, Community Health Workers support neighborhood leaders and residents in building grassroots movements, developing sustained and democratic community-based organizations, and strengthening local capacity to dismantle systems that contribute to violence. CHWs play a key role in fostering community ownership, encouraging collective action, and connecting individuals to resources that address underlying risk factors.
This position requires flexibility and a strong commitment to community-based work. CHWs operate during non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, to align with peak periods of community need. Schedules may vary week to week, and staff may be required to work on-call and participate in a rotating schedule to ensure consistent coverage and responsiveness.

Engage individuals at elevated risk of violence, providing support, guidance, and connection to appropriate resources and services.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of outreach activities, participant engagement, and progress.
Collect, track, and manage case-related data in accordance with program expectations and reporting requirements.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, ensuring compliance with all program, local, state, and federal confidentiality policies.
Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations and community impact.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic, community-based environments.
Proficiency with basic technology, including data entry systems, mobile applications, and communication tools.
Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required by program).
Education & Experience
